What is it like to work for Bjarke Ingels or Norman Foster? Another in the series of discussions titled Expati, in which architect Adam Gebrian presents Czech architects in the service of prestigious foreign studios.
The guest of the sixth meeting of EXPATI at CAMP will be Petr Štefek, who participated in the studio of Norman Foster on projects such as the design of Queen Alia Airport in Jordan and the winning competition design for a concert hall in St. Petersburg. He also had the opportunity to design the residential building Fisher Street as part of the HOK office team. This building, slightly inspired by Prague’s Cubism, is set to become part of the underground transport infrastructure project Crossrail upon its completion.
In recent years, he has begun to focus on projects as a freelance architect that aim to respond to the challenges of the climate crisis. He has thus engaged in efforts to restore biodiversity in the challenging conditions of existing cities. One of the first interventions was the recently renovated Regal House near Covent Garden Underground Station. He is now also working on the redesign of one of London’s airports.
Moderated by Adam Gebrian.
The lecture will be streamed live on Facebook.
