What is it like to work for Bjarke Ingels or Norman Foster? Another in the series of debates titled Expati, in which architect Adam Gebrian will introduce Czech architects in the service of prestigious foreign studios. The guest of the August meeting will be on Thursday, August 29, 2019, at 7:00 PM, Bára Šafářová, who is a doctoral student of architecture at Texas A&M, USA, where she recently defended her master’s thesis on urban and regional planning. Her doctoral dissertation focuses on the issue of residential development on the border between the United States and Mexico. Her broader interest includes the role of architecture and urbanism in spatial discrimination against minorities. Bára's education began at FUA in Liberec, from where she moved to the University of East London. She completed her master's degree in architecture at London Metropolitan University. In London, she worked for several years in a residential architectural office and commercial studios that specialized in so-called environmental branding of shopping centers and retail zones at airports.
