In Brno, the construction of a concert hall is set to begin in 2024, and work on the circuit is nearing completion

Brno – Next year, several significant constructions will begin in the South Moravian Region. After decades of preparation, Brno wants to start building a concert hall, and is already constructing a multipurpose hall near the exhibition center. The regional government plans to repair the S-Centrum in Hodonín and build a sanatorium in Pasohlávky. The cultural events planned for 2024 are dominated by the international Janáček Brno festival.

Traffic in Brno is expected to significantly improve in the second half of 2024. The constructions on the large city ring road will gradually be completed, specifically on the section from Tomkovo Square to the intersection with Rokytová Street, as well as on the section in Žabovřesky Street, which will be expanded to double its size. Additionally, the modification of the Svratka riverbank from Uhelná Street almost to the Riviera should also be completed by the end of the year. This will not only make the southern part of the city ring road better navigable, but residents of the city should also see the benefits of the modified riverbed. Instead of the stone vertical walls that previously confined the river, promenades and bike paths along the entire length of the modified stream are planned.

Among the largest investment projects for next year in Brno is the commencement of construction of the Janáček Cultural Center. The city is currently in the phase of selecting a contractor. The competitive price for the construction of the concert hall for the Brno Philharmonic is 2.4 billion crowns, and the work is expected to last at least three years. The construction of the multipurpose hall at the exhibition center will also continue, at a cost of nearly six billion crowns.

The South Moravian Region will commence construction of the Pálava Sanatorium in Pasohlávky near Brno. The rehabilitation institute will cost 784 million crowns. In the spring, the regional government also plans to begin the repair of the S-Centrum senior home in Hodonín, which was damaged by a tornado. The reconstruction will cost nearly half a billion crowns. The Center for Cardiovascular and Transplant Surgery wants to begin construction of a new site in the Faculty Hospital Brno area, which has already selected a contractor. It will cost approximately two billion crowns.
