Dolní Morava (Orlickoústecko) - The village of Dolní Morava in the Orlickoústecko region is preparing to construct a visitor center at Králický Sněžník. In addition to tourist information about the region, it will also serve as an exhibition and lecture space. This was stated by the mayor Richard Novák.

"The information center is currently operated by the ski resort, it is commercial, more of a shop," said Novák.

The municipality plans to build the facility at the foot of Sněžník, where tourists begin their hikes. They will offer souvenirs, refreshments, and information about the ascent to Sněžník. The internal exhibition and outdoor gallery on the balcony will focus on the National Nature Reserve of Králický Sněžník.

Visitors will be alerted to the western ridge, where Mount Klepý is located, which is the European watershed of the Black, Baltic, and North Seas, and is also called the roof of Europe.

"The exhibition will also feature a model of the Tvarožné díry karst cave, which is not accessible in real life. An interesting aspect is the border milestone, which is smaller than the current ones, indicating the historical range of Kladsko, Bohemia, and Moravia,"
said Novák.

The municipality is applying for European grants together with the Poles, who want to build a lookout tower on Sněžník. There used to be one on the Polish side. This year, the grant provider is expected to decide on the allocation of the grant. The municipality estimates the costs, including the exhibition setup, to be nearly 20 million crowns. The grants cover 85 percent of the costs.

"The costs also include those for the first year of operation or promotion of the area. We expect to reduce the final price by 25 to 30 percent through a tender. We will also apply for a contribution from the Pardubice Region," said Novák.
