Hradec Králové - The monuments of the year 2024 are the renovated railway station in České Budějovice and the restoration of part of the urban house No. 31 in Příbor in the Novojičínsko region. The award for the restoration of immovable or movable properties was granted today in Hradec Králové by the Association of Historical Sites of Bohemia, Moravia, and Silesia during the opening of the exhibition "The Representation of Hradec Králové through the Changes of Time." The prize belongs to the owners of the monuments from among private individuals, municipalities, the church, and other owners.

The competition has two categories. Among the monuments whose restoration cost more than two million CZK excluding VAT, the restoration of the train station building in České Budějovice won. The reconstruction, initiated by the Railway Administration in 2020, restored the building's historical appearance while simultaneously adapting it to the needs of the 21st century. It cost nearly 900 million CZK.

The second place in the category of restorations over two million CZK went to the reconstruction of a medieval fortress in Bělá nad Radbuzou in the Domažlice region, and the third place was awarded for the restoration of the so-called Silver House in Masaryk Square in Jihlava.

Among monuments with small restorations costing up to two million CZK excluding VAT, the highest-rated was the urban house in Příbor. It was followed by the restoration of the painting "Home" from 1933, which is located in the Besední House in Ivančice in the Brno region. Third place went to the repair of the Baroque water chapel in the pilgrimage site at Křemešník in the Pelhřimov region.

The competition has been announced since 2013. The monuments of the year 2023 were the riding hall in Světce in Tachov and the Chapel of the Sorrowful Mother of God at the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Jevíčko in the Svitavy region.
