Prague - Residents of Prague 6 are protesting against the construction of the Bořislavka administrative center above the new A metro station. They consider the building to be oversized. They claim it will worsen living conditions. The petition has been signed by 1,500 people. The KKCG group of entrepreneur Karel Komárek, which plans the construction at a cost of approximately two billion, stands behind the project and rejects the criticisms. The organizers of the petition stated in a press release today that the construction of the administrative center does not respect the local villa development and will increase traffic congestion, among other issues. KKCG spokeswoman Dana Dvořáková told ČTK in response to a question that the investor, in collaboration with architects, has had the project revised to fit the location. The company is currently negotiating a change to the zoning plan, after which it will apply for a building permit for the new project. They intend to complete the construction by 2017. The Bořislavka project at the intersection of Evropská, Liberijská, and Horoměřická streets, with a view of Prague Castle, will offer 24,000 square meters of office space and 10,000 square meters of shops including restaurants and cafes. Four office buildings are shaped by the company into irregular natural forms – crystals, and are set into the lower part of the construction with retail spaces. KKCG, as a strategic investor, focuses on areas such as oil and natural gas, industry, and investment in the long term. The group holds stakes in more than 25 Czech and foreign companies, including MND, Sazka, OPAP, Vítkovice, the Fischer travel group, Information Line 1188, and others. KKCG operates in more than ten countries around the world.
