Pardubice - Developers are once again interested in the location Na Spravedlnosti in Pardubice. They plan to build hundreds of apartments. In the past, plans by developers were not realized partly due to poor transport accessibility and a lack of parking spaces. Therefore, the city is preparing project documentation for traffic solutions in the area, said Mayor Martin Charvát (ANO) to ČTK.
"I welcome the activities of developers; so far, we have unsightly areas in the city center. If we compile the project documentation throughout this year, I expect that in the fall we could meet with investors and address the area as a whole," Charvát stated.
The company Luxury Home is preparing to construct six apartment buildings with 270 apartments at the site of the current clay parking lot opposite the regional police headquarters. The project includes underground garages, and the ground floors of the buildings are to house shops or services.
On its website, the developer announced the start of construction in 2018. In the application for a zoning decision, the project is divided into two stages. No further details were provided. "The design office is in charge of everything; we will deal with the details and timelines at the end of this year," wrote Filip Müller from Luxury Home in an email.
The Dutch company Cere Invest Babylon is reviving its plans from 2008. It is preparing a project for two apartment buildings in the inner block near the labor office and Na Spravedlnosti street. The zoning application mentions a thirteen and a seven-story building. Part of the ground floor is allocated for parking and storage units for the apartments, as stated in the documents for the zoning process.
The Dutch investor presented a design by architect Bořek Šípek, inspired by Pieter Bruegel's painting The Tower of Babel, back in 2008. The construction was criticized by local residents who believed there would be no parking for cars and that the tall building would overshadow smaller structures.
"The house is now supposed to look completely different. The developer has approached another architect," Michal Novotný from Cettus, who represents the investor, told ČTK. Novotný did not want to provide further information over the phone.
In the past, it was also considered that the state would build a regional court on the land opposite the police station. The company Chládek a Tintěra originally wanted to construct a commercial and residential complex there at the turn of the millennium. Gradually, it sold off all the land, part of which was for the construction of the polyclinic Vektor.
