On the site of the Jaselská Barracks in Brno, there will be apartments, offices, and stores

Brno - At the site of the Jaselská barracks near the center of Brno, there will be houses with apartments, offices, and shops by 2010. Last year, old buildings were still standing on the premises, where the series Četnické humoresky was filmed; Czech Television wanted to utilize the land for the construction of a new headquarters. However, they eventually changed their mind. The original buildings have already been demolished, and this year the company Kliminvest will begin constructing the Novus complex in their place.
    The Jaselská barracks will thus join other military complexes that have found new uses after years of neglect. For example, the barracks in Slatina will be utilized by the city for an industrial-commercial area.
    Two hectares near the center can also be utilized by traders, with part of the multi-story buildings being occupied by shops. The higher floors will be designated for offices, and there will also be space for 400 apartments.
    Novus will not occupy the entire barracks complex. The project will stop at locations where the Šumavská street could later be extended. New buildings will be built along Štefánikova and parallel Staňkova streets, with a kind of atrium created between them, where the architects envision a park arrangement. There should also be gardens on the roofs of the buildings.
