Brno - Citizens and associations have filed another lawsuit against the Update of the Principles of Land Use Development of the South Moravian Region. This was announced today in a press release by the chairman of the association Spokojené Díly, Květoslav Pazourek. They criticize the document for the inappropriate routing of road 43 with the southern bypass of Kuřim in close proximity to residential development. In October, the court rejected two previous lawsuits that had similar objections to the update. Governor Jan Grolich (KDU-ČSL) told CTK today that the region has already succeeded in court and has no fears of further courts.
The route of road 43 from the D1 highway to the north will pass through the municipal districts of Bystrc and Kníničky, and through the recreational area over the dam of the Brno Reservoir, and further north to the southern bypass of Kuřim towards Černá Hora. "The selected route clearly harms thousands of residents in terms of the environment, unlike the optimized variant. Damage to the population can be significantly prevented by proper bypasses of municipalities," said Pazourek.
According to him, the lawsuit does not target the construction of new roads, but rather the opposite. "It demands that the basic national and regional roads be routed in such a way that they serve well while taking into account residential areas," Pazourek stated. According to him, associations, citizens, and some municipalities demand the construction of bypasses of municipalities as well as routing the road through the so-called Boskovická basin with the northern bypass of Kuřim behind the industrial zone, not the southern bypass near residential development. Pazourek added that the route selected by the region is more expensive even without counting the necessary protective measures in the form of tunnels near populated areas.
Governor Grolich stated that he does not have specific information about what the lawsuit is based on. "I understand that the plaintiffs are trying to use all possible means. But it is clear that we have succeeded. And I am not afraid of further courts," added Grolich.
