Mladá Boleslav - Mladá Boleslav is preparing project documentation for the construction of a new sports hall, which is set to be built next to the fifth elementary school. The construction, costing approximately 24 million crowns, should be covered by the city treasury, and everything is expected to be completed by the end of next year, said the mayor of Mladá Boleslav Raduan Nwelati (ODS) at a press conference today. The council originally considered placing the new hall next to the existing sports hall in the northern housing estate, but ultimately decided to build it next to the fifth elementary school. "It wouldn't be logical for children to travel across the city for physical education to the sports hall," said Nwelati. Currently, project documentation is being prepared, and the investment will be included in the city budget for 2014. According to Nwelati, the hall will serve as a high-standard gym for the school in the morning hours and will be open for public sports in the afternoon. What the new hall will look like is currently being resolved by the designer, and the costs for its construction are not expected to exceed 24 million crowns. "The designer will have a challenging job because we already had one study prepared, but the costs there were around 40 million crowns. That is an unacceptable price for us. Therefore, the project needs to be adjusted to reduce costs for the city," added the mayor. The construction of the hall is set to begin and be completed next year.
