Prague - New development could arise on the banks of the Džbán water reservoir near the Prague reservation Divoká Šárka in the future. In this extraordinary recreational area, landowners plan to build residential buildings. This follows from the proposal they presented to the leadership of Prague 6 and the city hall. According to information from ČTK, the owners want to request a change in the zoning plan that would allow for the transformation of the banks. However, Prague 6 does not agree with the proposal.

The construction should concern the bank that currently serves as a swimming area. The owners want to renovate dilapidated buildings and create a place for housing. High-rise buildings with views of Prague and the Divoká Šárka valley are to be built on the site of the existing parking lot near the campsite. The project is supposed to "improve the very poor condition" of this area, according to materials presented to the city hall and the leadership of Prague 6.
Most of the land on the bank of the reservoir is owned, according to the land registry, by the company Molepo s.r.o., which deals with real estate rentals. It was not possible to obtain a statement from the company. Radka Simandlová from the architectural company working on the project stated in response to ČTK's inquiry that the owners do not want to comment on anything for now.
According to the current form of the zoning plan, the area is intended solely for rest and recreation, not for construction. The potential change should be assessed by the city council, and the leadership of the capital will decide on it. It is still unclear how the representatives will react to the idea. It is already evident that the proposal will stir strong emotions among the public. According to the mayor of Prague 6, Marie Kousalíková, the proposal is unacceptable.
"The representatives of the owner, along with the architects, contacted the city council and presented their intention to build houses in this area," she stated in response to ČTK. "They showed us something that cannot be there. They want to build family or terraced houses in this area, which is really not possible in Šárka," she added.
