Letovice (Blanensko) - The representatives of Letovice in the Blanensko region are planning a reconstruction of the central Masaryk Square, which will cost approximately 30 million crowns. The town hall has already selected three architectural designs for the new look of the square. Now the council members want to choose the best one so the city can apply for grants next year, said the mayor of the city, Radek Procházka, today to ČTK.

"All three studies will be displayed in shop windows in the square starting Wednesday for a month. Then we will hold a meeting with citizens to select the best proposal," the mayor stated. Subsequently, the town hall will ask the creator of the best study to develop a final project.
Masaryk Square is almost halfway modified. In recent years, the city has invested nine million crowns into it. However, the work is far from finished. There remains to be modified the part of the square adjacent to the railway line, which will be a traffic challenge.
In this area, there is a complicated intersection that needs to be preserved but redesigned to be clearer. It is necessary to remove some parking spaces, strengthen the greenery, and create a fountain in the area.
Work on the square's modification could begin at the end of next year. It will be divided into multiple phases and may take several years.
