Český Krumlov - Český Krumlov wants to use the former barracks in the Vyšný district to build 240 apartments. According to today's Právo, this follows from the discussion of city representatives, an architect, and representatives of the Českokrumlov Development Fund (ČKRF). The planned project proposes, on an area of about 23 hectares, to build not only apartments but also sports facilities, a medical office, shops, and offices, the newspaper reports in its South Bohemian edition. "In the southern part of the site, there are plans for the reconstruction and renovation of the current military barracks, as well as the construction of four new apartment buildings. In this lower part of the newly created residential area, approximately 240 apartments should be constructed. In the northern part, designated for individual housing, around 75 family houses are expected," said after the meeting the director of ČKRF Miroslav Reitinger. In the new residential area, seniors are also expected to find accommodation. According to Reitinger, both a traditional nursing home and more luxurious apartments are being considered. The city council will decide on specific transformations in this area. The ČKRF is currently working on a feasibility study for the entire project, writes Právo. The start date for construction work depends on the completion of the city's regulatory plan. Construction modifications are most likely to begin in 2009.
