The genesis of the self-destructing stool was preceded by a thorough analysis of corn. After several observations, it became clear that a kernel of corn remains still and then, in a very short time, transforms into popcorn. The same mechanism was applied to seating furniture: A paperboard does not show any signs of movement, when suddenly BANG! CRACK! POP! with a single motion, it becomes a light yet sturdy stool.
