Blansko - Interested parties will be able to watch the demolition of Hotel Dukla, located in the center of Blansko, live. A camera from a private company, which has agreed with the city hall, will stream it on the city's website. A park will be created on the site of the significantly dilapidated building. A time-lapse video of the transformation of this place into Republic Square will subsequently be produced, city hall officials told ČTK. The demolition will begin in July. The walls of the large structure will be crushed by special jaws of demolition machines. Blasting the building is not possible due to high dust, noise, and the proximity of many buildings. The work will cost around ten million crowns and will be completed by autumn. The city will then create a park on the site of the hotel, from which only the cellars will remain, featuring a café, a fountain, a children's playground, and exercise elements for adults. This work will cost nine million crowns and will be completed by spring 2016. The hotel was one of the most luxurious accommodations in the Moravian Karst, which was used by its visitors from abroad during communism. After 1989, it fell into disrepair. The city could not find another use for it, which is why it decided to have it demolished.
