Chrudim - Chrudim is preparing the renovation of the area in front of the railway station. A public transport terminal should be created there, for which the city hall is currently preparing project documentation. The neighboring bus station will remain largely unchanged for now, said Mayor Petr Řezníček (SNK ED) to reporters today. "We would like to have a transfer terminal that will connect public transport and the train station. It will partially impact the area of the bus station, which is owned by a private company," Řezníček stated. According to him, the owner will only remove some bus stops for long-distance buses in front of the transport office.
"There should be a complete change of the area in front of the station, where there could be a parking lot possibly with a parking garage for bikes," Řezníček said. The city would like to obtain a grant for the terminal from the program of Integrated Territorial Investments (ITI) of the Hradec-Pardubice agglomeration.
Similar transfer terminals are also being planned by other cities in the region. The largest will be in Pardubice, more modest ones in Svitavy, in Přelouč in Pardubice Region, Heřmanův Městec, and Hlinsko in Chrudim Region, or Moravská Třebová in Svitavy Region. In the past, Česká Třebová built a generous terminal with an underground parking lot for 330 million crowns, of which 173 million crowns were obtained from European grants.
