Chrudim - Chrudim completed an extensive project Integrated Urban Development Plan (IPRM). With the help of European funding, it renovated the area under the train station defined by Škroupova, Čs. armády and Palackého třída streets near the city center. In addition to the renovation of residential buildings, roads and utilities, the overall appearance of the area also improved significantly, informed ČTK Aleš Prokopec from the Chrudim town hall. "This is the largest investment in the modern history of the city. The city spent more than 172 million crowns on its constructions, and with the costs of private owners of residential buildings, the total project cost is approximately 230 million crowns," said the mayor of Chrudim Petr Řezníček (SNK-ED). The IPRM started in 2009, since then the city has renovated residential buildings and public spaces. Two playgrounds were created, a bus stop was built, a parking lot and the area in front of the polyclinic were renovated, and a new signaling device regulates traffic on Palackého třída. The project also included the reconstruction of part of the public lighting and landscaping. A complete renovation was carried out on nine residential buildings owned by the city, where a heating system connected to the hot water from the Opatovice power plant was built. Workers repaired the roofs and replaced windows and doors in three other city-owned residential buildings. Private owners of seven residential buildings also took advantage of the grant to insulate external walls, renovate elevators, or replace windows and doors. The total amount of grants for the renovation of residential buildings is 17.3 million crowns for private owners, while the city received nearly 37.2 million crowns for the repairs of its properties.
