Author: Aoc architekti / MgA. Ondřej Císler, Ing.arch. Josef Choc, Ing.arch. Filip Rašek, Ing.arch. Barbora Lopraisová
Jury evaluation: The jury appreciates the placement of the entrance from B. Kafka Street including the placement of an adequate approach and retreat from the street front. The approach from the upper part of the plot provides the best layout solution and contributes to the public life of the city and its relation to the theater building. At the same time, the jury positively assesses the connection to the parking area on the street and to the volleyball court. It appreciates the clear logic of operation separating athletes and the public. The lower part of the plot is considerate of the residential building. Jury recommendations: The jury considers the relationship between the new and old buildings to be weaker and therefore recommends considering the architectural solution for the connection. It also recommends reevaluating the placement of the mirrored hall in close contact with B. Kafka Street. In further development of the proposal, the jury and the client emphasize greater economy of the chosen solution, especially the load-bearing structure of the hall and material solutions. A large window on the southern facade will cause uneven lighting of the playing area; however, the client welcomes the possibility of direct connection to the yard. The jury is concerned about the solution to the cramped space between the school and the new hall.

2nd place - 100,000,- CZK
Author: Malý Chmel / Ing.arch. Petr Malý Ing.arch. Zdeněk Chmel, MgA. Miroslav Chmel
Jury evaluation: The jury appreciates the placement of the building in relation to the school and the unambiguous mass separation that translates into the interior and passes from the street to the yard. The roof structure with a large overhang gives the building an independent dignified character next to significant city buildings. We appreciate the roof courtyard above the support areas and the design of the school yard, as well as the visual contact between the playing area and the original school building. Jury recommendations: The proposal contains the intersection of clean and dirty operations, insufficient dispersal areas at the entrance, while containing superfluous areas under the stands. The proposal has an unclear public entrance to the stand. The use of corrugated metal in the historic city area and a small degree of glazing facing B. Kafka Street, where there is northern light, should be reconsidered. The design does not appear sufficiently noble in relation to B. Kafka Street concerning its representativeness (the theater). There is an insufficient barrier-free solution. The retreat from the street front on B. Kafka is unjustified.

3rd place - 80,000,- CZK
Author: SPORADICAL architectural office / Ing.arch. Aleš Kubalík, Ing.arch. Jakub Našinec, Ing.arch. Veronika Sávová, Ing.arch. Josef Kocián
Jury evaluation: The jury appreciates the space of the school yard, where a quality space is created, including a new entrance to the school. We appreciate the multiple levels of new stay areas for the students. The layout is clear and collision-free. We appreciate the connection with the secondary school. Jury recommendations: The proposal has the largest built area and enclosed space and is beyond the economic possibilities of the client. The jury recommends optimizing the spaces in the event of further development of the proposal. The glazing of the gym facades is inadequate for the operation of the school. The staircase to the terrace reduces the garden of the residential building.

4th place
Author: žalský architekti / Ing.arch. MgA. Jan Žalský, MgA. Tomáš Nováček, MgA. Vojtěch Tecl, Daniel Tomas Rodriguez Pino, Ing.arch. Aneta Voženílková, Max Lipovský
Jury evaluation: The jury appreciates the clean minimal solution and the effort for an economic approach that meets the client's requirements. We appreciate the urban separation from the school building and the lightness and sensitivity of the proposal. We also appreciate the effort to connect the street and the yard. Operational solutions in several places are insufficient and underdimensioned. The placement of the main entrance above the yard level is a negative, as is the small dispersal space at the entrance to the building. The entry ramp from 17. listopadu Street is unrealistically short, and the proposed solution for the leisure garden of the residential building is unconvincing. The operational solution contains the intersection of clean and dirty processes and a narrow auditorium. The required connection with a dry foot to the existing school building is missing.

5th place
Author: A.D.N.S. architects
Jury evaluation: The jury perceives the effort for a bold mass and urban solution, as well as the integration of the new building into the context of the city. The mass of the building appears inadequate to the location. The operational solution is very complicated with multiple levels. The diagonal placement of the house eliminates the courtyard for the students. The complex mass composition weakens the unambiguous mass of the gym building. A negative aspect is the placement of columns in the front row of the stands.
