Most - Most is announcing a contract for the project documentation for the renovation of the Repre cultural house. The price is estimated at 15 million crowns excluding VAT. After the reconstruction, the library could move into the building, while the cinema, planetarium, and community hall will be preserved. This was stated today by Mayor Jan Paparega.

The Repre cultural house is located in the center of Most next to the main Boulevard Budovatelů, right next to the city hall. Its renovation is the largest modern investment in the city, with total costs estimated at 300 to 400 million crowns. Interested parties for the project documentation contract can apply by July 12.

The evaluation committee will choose the winner not only based on price. "Experience of the team and qualifications play an important role," the mayor said. The committee will have nine members.

The preparation of the documentation will take about a year. In the second half of next year, the city could announce a competition for the contractor. Most will draw money for the actual renovation from its own reserve fund. "We will also look for suitable grant opportunities," Paparega noted.

The renovated building will include a cinema hall, a representative hall, a planetarium, and a new library. The current library building will likely be offered for sale by the city.

The current Repre, formerly the Regional House of Culture for Miners and Energy Workers in Most, was built as a replacement for the demolished Repre building in old Most, which, like most of the original buildings, fell victim to the surface mining of brown coal. The building permit was issued in 1972, but the construction was not completed until 1984. The building is very complex, with some of its above-ground parts supported by concrete pillars and a dome on the roof housing the planetarium. The building is surrounded by a shallow water surface. The city does not plan to maintain it.
