The Czech Chamber of Architects (ČKA) has announced the next edition of its traditional event, the Diploma Works Exhibition. Its aim is to compare the quality of teaching at Czech universities focused on architecture, to raise the standards of architectural education, and last but not least, to promote architecture to the general public.
The subject of the competition is successfully defended diploma theses of graduates from architectural fields at universities during the academic year 2017/2018. Graduates who successfully defend their diploma thesis during the relevant period at one of the universities and faculties providing architectural education in an accredited master's program focused on architecture, urban planning, or landscape architecture, and are listed by ČKA among schools with recognized education and related education, may participate in the exhibition.
For this year's Diploma Works Exhibition, applications can be submitted until July 18, 2018. A clearly completed and signed application, along with the competition documentation, must be delivered to the ČKA office in Prague or Brno, either electronically, by post, or in person. Participation in the competition exhibition is not associated with any financial costs, as the printing of the competition panels is provided by ČKA.
This year, the jury will once again consist of leading experts not only from among authorized architects - Tomáš Bezpalec, Lukáš Brom, Ida Chuchlíkova, Vojtěch Kaas, and Pavel Pijáček.
The total amount of awards for the winners will reach 50,000 CZK (Main Prize - Olympus Company Prize - 25,000 CZK, second prize - 15,000 CZK, and third prize - 10,000 CZK). Graduates will also take home other attractive prizes. As every year, a Special Prize from the Czech Centers will also be awarded.
