To support its key political idea, Czechoslovakism, Czech professor František Žákavec from Comenius University in Bratislava attempted this with a book about the architect Dušan Jurkovič, who was well known among both Czechs and Slovaks, published in 1929. Jurkovič himself had Czechoslovakist views, thus providing a good foundation for Žákavec's political intentions. Despite this, Žákavec's efforts did not achieve success.
