Bus station ČAD Blansko

The bus station in Blansko has been built on the site of the original one. It lies on a long narrow plot in the valley, between the Svitava River and the main thoroughfare on Svitavská Street. Across the river is the railway line and the train station. It is designed as a linear structure, with buses entering from the roundabout, stopping at angled or parallel parking spots, and after serving passengers, proceeding back onto Svitavská Street.
The architectural concept is based on the motif of crossing. Diagonally positioned pillars made of exposed concrete support a roof structure that is 118 meters long and 8.5 meters wide. This covers the bus stop platforms as well as the operational building. It is supported by a combination of concrete and steel elements, topped with a glass roof featuring printed designs.
Passengers at the stops are protected from the busy road by a noise barrier. The use of rusty steel and wood integrates it into the natural character of the surroundings. It is adorned with climbing plants and is expected to be green in the future.
The pavilion of the operational building, with a structurally glazed facade, serves both passengers and the service staff of the bus station. Facilities for bus drivers, administrative operations of the transport company, a ticket sales office, and information services are provided here. The waiting area for passengers is glass-enclosed facing both the platforms and the street. The striking signal yellow color of the interior indicates publicly accessible space. The rest of the building and interior is white, with yellow floors. The waiting area with restrooms is air-conditioned, with public Wi-Fi access.
Within the station complex, there are also separate bus stops at the parallel parking spots, a bike storage box, bike racks, and benches. Each non-traffic area is landscaped. The maximum amount of trees and shrubs has been planted.
