Slavona – Windows for Modern Architecture and Passive Houses

Windows from Slavona are generally known for their excellent thermal insulation properties and elegant appearance. Thanks to innovations and the development of window constructions, which Slavona pays great attention to, it can offer customers products with added value in the form of timeless design, long-lasting durability, and minimal maintenance requirements. These are the main reasons why Slavona's windows are so popular in the construction of modern houses.

When we say wooden window, most of us picture a classic European window with insulated double or triple glazing, with a visually wide frame and a robust drip cap. However, in the case of Slavona's windows, this concept needs to be specified somewhat. The company currently offers windows in six profile series, which differ in several significant properties.

In 2012, Slavona launched the production of a completely new window design called Progression. Of all the offered profiles, Progression is distinguished by the best thermal insulation properties, so it boasts classification in category A when certified by the Passive House Institute in Darmstadt, Germany. Progression has also received numerous awards at exhibitions and professional competitions. Its advantages, however, are not just in thermal insulation. The external composite frame can be covered with a façade system, giving the window a frameless appearance from the exterior, making it very attractive to designers and builders. Inside, it features the impressive beauty of natural wood without distracting visible hinges.

For those who appreciate the beauty of wood even from the exterior, Slavona offers the model series Inspiro. This type is structurally based on the Progression windows, but the outer thermowood frame remains visible. The thoughtful design of the Inspiro windows allows for great flexibility in creativity. Different color combinations for the interior parts of the windows and the outer frame can be variably combined, and it is also possible to choose different types of wood for the interior and exterior.

With respect to luxury design and simultaneously almost zero maintenance demands, Slavona has developed the model series called Clipper. The Clipper construction utilizes the technology of overlapping, enameled glass, perfectly protecting it from weather effects. Depending on the different areas of application for the products, a range of colors for the enameled parts of the glass are chosen. There are eight basic color shades of glass available, catering to a wide spectrum of architectural solutions – from family homes to commercial buildings. The interior space is again made cozy with natural wood of the window frames and sashes.

Wood-aluminum windows also play an irreplaceable role in the company’s product portfolio. Slavona offers them in two variants – HA 110 Line and Alpino. The exterior parts of both types are covered with aluminum profiles. In the HA 110 Line type, the covering consists of a separate frame and a separate sash. The cladding of the Alpino model consists of a single aluminum profile that covers both the frame and the sash together. The interior is again enriched with wood, enhancing the pleasant climate of the home. The model series from Slavona is complemented by frameless glazing called Blue Line. This glazing allows for maximum illumination of the interior and can be combined with the Inspiro, Clipper, and Alpino windows.

For architecture that prefers a "classic" look of windows, the Solid Comfort model designated SC 92 is intended. These windows are structurally based on the classic European window, but they can boast several improvements that eliminate the drawbacks of the original design. In the Solid Comfort windows, the robust drip cap is replaced by a combination of wood and two subtle aluminum drip caps. This solution improves thermal insulation properties and also elevates the aesthetic level of the product. Another undeniable advantage is the reduction of the visible width of the frame, which positively impacts the amount of light that can pass through the window into the interior.
