Windows, balcony and entrance doors as an integral part of the building envelope are exposed to weather fluctuations (and increasingly extreme ones in recent times). As such, they must meet high demands for resistance to weather conditions for decades without requiring extensive maintenance.
At Slavona, we pay great attention to protecting the outer surface of our products and choose various methods according to our customers' demands for design and material composition. For example, we use thermally modified wood, known as thermowood, hardened enamel glass, or aluminum cladding in various RAL shades.
However, many of our customers desire windows and doors where natural wood is also visible on the exterior. For such products, it is important that they have the best possible surface treatment. At Slavona, we have opted for systems from Adler, which guarantee the longevity of windows for many decades. Thus, for our Solid Comfort wooden windows, the surface treatment Aquawood Diamond is the best choice.
The application of high-quality surface treatments requires technological equipment that ensures perfect spraying. The resulting effect must meet even the most demanding requirements of builders; therefore, in collaboration with Adler, we have also modified our painting line.
In November 2020, after approximately six months of preparation, we installed a two-component mixing and dosing device, which allows us to apply the Aquawood Diamond system. This step, as expected, improved both the quality of the final surface treatment and contributed to time savings during the drying of the sprayed products. Previously, it was necessary for the water contained in the paints to evaporate evenly into the surrounding environment, while now there is faster and more uniform curing through a chemical reaction.
This year, we further expanded the two-component system with additional color circuits so that we can seamlessly change color shades according to our customers' wishes.
