Between 1980 and 1994, he was an independent collaborator in architectural firms: Palliard + Leemann / Zurich, Andrea Roost / Bern, and I + B Architekten / Zurich, Bern, where he was the lead designer. From 1982 to 2006, he ran his own architectural office in Biel and Zurich in Switzerland; in 1989, he co-founded the architectural office DaM in Prague with Petr Malinský, and from 1991 to 2018, he served as a co-owner and managing director of DaM spol. s r.o., later DAM architekti s.r.o.
