Retro rotary switches from the Berker series 1930 do not pretend to be anything else. With their uncompromisingly puristic design, they proudly refer to the first rotary switches from the 1930s, whose appearance has hardly deviated to this day. Why change something that works great even now? These switches do not experiment with materials either. They are available to architects and designers in two material variants: you can choose switches made of plastic or high-quality porcelain from the Rosenthal factory. The color remains conservative - black or white.

However, beneath the traditional exterior beats a metaphorical high-tech heart. Top-notch technology and precise craftsmanship of the mechanisms leave no doubt to anyone using the switches that these pieces, while appearing one hundred years old, have their origins in the new millennium. In addition to switches and power sockets, you can also have data, television, or USB charging sockets, blind controllers, buttons, and more. Nonetheless, even the traditionally looking Berker series 1930 switches are not afraid of innovations and current trends. A proof is provided by the variants of round rotary switches with LED backlighting, which adds another unexpected dimension to the switches and elevates their appearance and functionality to the next level.

The Berker series 1930 switches are ideally suited not only for historicist and functionalist interiors but also surprisingly blend well with contemporary minimalist interiors or projects in the style of classic modernism. They have become favorites among Czech architects and can be found in a number of private projects as well as adorning and complementing such gems as the Tugendhat villa, Rothmayer villa, Bauer villa, or the monasteries in Český Krumlov.

"We are immensely proud that giants of architecture such as Adolf Loos or the founder of the Bauhaus school, Walter Gropius, used Berker switches in their meticulously thought-out architectural masterpieces," explains the connection between Berker switches and the pearls of classic modernism Mr. Thomas Grund, General Director of Hager in the Czech Republic, whose portfolio includes Berker switches. "During renovations, our Berker switches - specifically the series 1930 and series glas - were once again used in Loos's villa or in buildings related to the Bauhaus school in Dessau. Both of these design lines follow strictly functional and straightforward lines in precise accordance with the principles of Bauhaus, without any embellishments or compromises," adds Thomas Grund.
