DORSIS s.r.o.

Modern architecture and design have been dominated by minimalism for several years. A fundamental element of the interior is undoubtedly the hidden frames, which bring the concept of aesthetic purity and straight lines to perfection. The Dorsis Fortius 52 doors and hidden frames represent the pinnacle of their segment due to their design maturity, technical quality, and price accessibility.

The basic idea of using hidden frames is to conceal the construction of the frames, magnetic locks, and hinge supports so that the doors can completely align with the wall, leaving only a thin gap between the wall and the doors visible.

"We developed the Fortius 52 doors and frames to offer architects and investors a modern solution for frames and doors of superior quality," says Jan Krejčí, managing director of Dorsis. "We focused on finding the ideal construction and using materials that ensure exceptional strength for both the frame and the doors. The result is an overall frame-door concept, not just two separate products."

Main advantages of the Fortius 52 concept

  • Unique sturdy construction of the hidden frame made from aluminum alloy T6060 with specially controlled processing and optimal mechanical properties T66
  • Door thickness of 52 mm combined with a robust construction ensures long-term strength of the door wing. The thickness of the surface MDF boards is 6 mm instead of the usual 3 mm.
  • Fortius 52 represents an optimized frame-door system that allows the ideal solution for any project.
  • The passage height can be up to 3500 mm, surely reaching the ceiling of most projects, with or without a lintel, and with a transom or sloping top.
  • Thanks to the 52 mm door thickness, optional elements can be applied – hidden automatic closers, drop thresholds, door stops, electric opening, etc.
  • Universal door opening inwards/outwards
  • Variability of door surfaces – from natural veneer to CPL boards prepared for repainting or decorating.
  • Easier and faster installation – the entire construction is delivered assembled and equipped with protective elements for easy installation

What is important for architects and builders?

Thinking about hidden frames should be done in advance, already during the preparation of renovations or constructions. This is a sophisticated product that requires professional preparation of the door opening and precise installation.

The frame itself is installed under the plaster during the final construction work. The frame is supplied already assembled and ready for immediate installation. It is also equipped with protective plastic covers to avoid damage or scratches during installation and plastering. Only after completing all construction work are the protective covers removed, and the door wing is installed.

"Customers will appreciate the quality of our doors only after installation and during use. Therefore, we not only want to manufacture a perfect product but also create conditions for builders that ensure long-term and trouble-free operation during installation." adds Jan Krejčí from Dorsis.

Design variability is important

The technical solution is certainly interesting, but the truth is that customers focus more on the appearance of the door wing. The key to success is the variability of surfaces, which in the case of the Dorsis concept is nearly infinite – from natural veneer through CPL boards in a spectrum of RAL and NCS shades to variants with plaster, wallpaper, or cladding. When manufacturing doors with a natural veneer surface, collaboration with furniture manufacturers is possible – using the same veneer on the door wing and furniture can achieve aesthetic harmony and support the minimalist character of the interior.

"We strive to meet not only the demands for modern interiors but also the expectations of architects. We know that we leave behind not just a quality product but also a precise installation, which is key for the customer," adds Jan Krejčí.

Dorsis Portfolio

However, Dorsis does not only offer design and innovative solutions in the segment of doors with hidden frames. A significant part of Dorsis installations consists of glass industrial partitions DIGERO, and they are also known for the quality of pivot doors AXON. A unique offering is made up of hidden baseboards LINUS, which allow the connection of the floor with the wall without baseboards, thus supporting the overall aesthetic impression of the interior.

"The spirit of minimalism and design simplicity is at the center of our activities. Hidden frames have long been the foundation of our offer, and we are currently proud of a whole range of additional interior elements that allow architects and users to achieve truly perfect interior aesthetics, whether in apartments, houses, or commercial spaces," adds Jan Krejčí.
