The Aquaroc™ board thus represents an innovation that will help address applications requiring moisture tolerance while maintaining all the advantages of dry construction methods.
It is a special, high-performance cement-based board with an exceptionally long lifespan.
It was developed for use in wet interiors and areas permanently exposed to moisture, such as swimming pools, wellness and fitness centers, laundries, car washes, cooking areas, etc. Even in such demanding, heavily loaded conditions, the Aquaroc™ board exhibits high volume stability and is also perfectly resistant to the formation of mold, as it contains no biological components. The material is non-combustible, making the board suitable for spaces with fire resistance requirements.
The board can also be applied where, in addition to water and moisture resistance, high strength and hardness of surfaces are required, such as in garages.
The system board, with its excellent properties, has lower weight (only 13.5 kg/m2) and is significantly easier to process than most other cement or cement particle boards on the market. The low weight of the boards represents a significant advantage for transportation and site handling, as well as for the assembly of structures directly on-site. The boards are available in thickness of 12.5 mm, width of 1,250 mm, and lengths of 900, 2,500, 3,000 mm.
Although the board, due to its strength, is an ideal substrate for ceramic tiles, structures can instead be finished with the smooth Aquaroc Promix Finish skim coat without priming, and then repainted, even in moist environments with load conditions.
Permanently wet environments with high humidity present challenging conditions for solving both building constructions and details for designers or architects, as well as maintenance and usage for the end user of the building.
Problems often arise when the "first line of defense" – the surface clad with ceramic tiles – does not provide reliable water insulation. In such cases, using a durable inert material for cladding, such as the Aquaroc™ board, is not only commercially but also financially advantageous.
The use of Aquaroc™ boards provides designers and builders with the assurance that can only be offered by a reliable and guaranteed comprehensive system. The assurance that the completed structures will remain aesthetic, functional, and reliable throughout the entire lifespan of the building without the need for additional interventions or repairs.
