At the foot of Mount Oblík, located in the protected landscape area of the Czech Central Highlands, stands a uniquely renovated farmhouse, now Resort Oblík. This project combines historical architecture with modern technologies and design, without disrupting the charm and authenticity of the rural environment. The resort also includes a restaurant, whose centerpiece is a fireplace with 360-degree glazing.

The renovation of the Oblík farmhouse was carried out under the guidance of architects from the Andrle architects studio, who sought maximum respect for the original structure of the buildings and their historical value. They focused on connecting existing materials, such as stone, wood, and lime plaster, with modern elements that make the interior airier and more comfortable.

The resort also includes a restaurant designed in the spirit of contemporary design, connected with natural materials and neutral colors, which create a calm environment and pleasant atmosphere.

Dominant Feature of the Space

A significant architectural and design element of the restaurant is the centrally placed Filiofocus central 1600 fireplace from the renowned French manufacturer Focus. This model is characterized by its elegant cylindrical shape and precise workmanship. The fireplace and its implementation were managed by the stove company KRBY-KAMNA TURYNA.

"The lower part of the fireplace, that is, the combustion chamber, is built on the floor. The upper conical segment with the chimney is suspended in the ceiling structure," says stove maker Jaroslav Turyna. A key feature of the fireplace is its 360-degree glazing, which consists of several layers of bent glass. "The fireplace is equipped with three curved glass panels that surround the combustion chamber. One of them is firmly anchored, while the other two are movable, allowing easy access to the hearth," adds Jaroslav Turyna, noting that the glass used is heat-resistant, thus withstanding temperatures of 500 to 550 degrees Celsius. This ensures the fireplace’s long lifespan and safe operation.

Thanks to the technology used, the fireplace provides an unobstructed view of the flames from all sides, making it a dominant feature of the space. Architecturally, this model is an ideal solution for open spaces, where it creates a natural focal point while maintaining the airiness of the interior.
