"Beauty with a Conscience": The motto of the new World Collection of wooden floors by Kährs inspired by exotic woods

Ecological manufacturing processes, used materials, and sustainable development are important topics that are increasingly emphasized today. A prime example among responsible companies is the Swedish wooden multilayer flooring manufacturer Kährs, for whom environmental protection and consideration in manufacturing is a fundamental philosophy. The company AB Gustav Kährs has been engaged in wooden flooring since 1935 when it acquired the patent for the production of multilayer wooden parquet. Not only does the multilayer structure have a lower environmental impact than solid floors, but the manufacturing processes and materials used also align with the idea of ecology and sustainable development. Kährs is a pioneer in this field, and in 1948, it became the first in its industry to introduce a manufacturing process without the use of solvents.

Environmental protection, consideration, and responsibility in manufacturing have accompanied this Swedish manufacturer to this day. Therefore, the fundamental "motto" of the Kährs World Collection is "Beauty with a conscience," meaning to produce beautiful and high-quality flooring with the least negative impact on the environment. And the manufacturer has succeeded in this. The World Collection includes one decor made from exotic jarrah wood and six new beautiful decors in shades of exotic wood. All new decors look as if they were made from exotic teak or merbau, yet their production was more environmentally friendly, with Swedish oak as the primary raw material.

Kährs World Collection - Nutmeg decor

The manufacturer Kährs, whose floors are exclusively imported to the Czech market by Kratochvíl parket profi, has managed to stain all six oak decors in such a way that they are indistinguishable from exotic woods. The names of individual shades are also unique, as the authors were inspired by exotic spices. The 1-strip pattern can be found in the Cayenne and Coriander decors, the 2-strip in Chili and Nutmeg, and the 3-strip pattern in the Habanero and Cardamom decors. The surface of the boards, stained in deep honey to reddish-brown shades, is protected by a layer of satin lacquer. These are three-layer boards with a thickness of 15 mm. The 1-strip boards of the Cayenne and Coriander decors measure 1,800 x 130 mm, while the remaining four measure 2,423 x 200 mm.

Decors in shades of exotic woods stand out in both modern and traditional interiors, pleasantly brightening each room with their vibrant colors and adding a luxurious appearance. The flooring is factory-prepared for floating installation, all equipped with the Woodloc® locking connection. However, it is also possible to permanently glue the flooring to the substrate, for example during installation over underfloor heating.

The replacement of exotic woods with European oak has also contributed to a more favorable purchase price, with 1 m² including VAT available depending on the choice of decor starting from 1,680 CZK.
