On Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at 7:00 PM, Urban Talks will take us to Madrid to the Spanish studio Temperaturas Extremas Arquitecto, founded in 1987 by architects Andrés Cánovas, Nicolás Maruri, and architect Atxu Amann Ya Lcocer, who also lectures at ETSAM.
Their architecture is a favorite backdrop for music videos of rappers and indie bands. They were nominated for the realization of the Molinete Museum in Cartagena for the Mies van der Rohe Awards 2022 and the ArchDaily Building of the Year 2021. They made an archaeological site accessible to visitors, allowing them to walk on the Roman foundations of the city of Cartagena. We are talking about the Spanish studio Temperaturas Extremas Arquitectos, founded in 1987 by architects Atxu Amann, Andrés Cánovas, and Nicolás Maruri. Among their current projects is a multifunctional complex in the suburb of Madrid in Coslada, where they placed offices and shops on a triangular plot, on which they then built 4 slender towers with 118 apartments. The studio will be presented by Atxu Amann, who also teaches at the Madrid School of Architecture.
Atxu Amann y Alcocer graduated in architecture in 1987 from ETSAM in Madrid, and in the same year co-founded the studio Temperaturas Extremas with Andrés Cánovas and Nicolás Maruri. From 1996 to 2005, she jointly led the magazine of the Spanish architects' association Consejo Superior de Colegios de Arquitectos de España with Andrés Cánovas. She also directed postgraduate editorial courses for the European Social Fund and taught postgraduate graphic design courses at the School of Fine Arts in Madrid. She is a teacher in the Architectural Graphics Department at ETSAM (Higher Technical School of Architecture) in Madrid.
