The architect Petr Všetečka will speak about the conversion of the Automatic Mills in Pardubice and the new location of the Gočár Gallery. The lecture series will take place every Wednesday in collaboration with TIC Brno and the Faculty of Architecture at VUT.
Petr Všetečka is a prominent Czech architect, particularly dedicated to the restoration of historic buildings and monuments. His portfolio includes prestigious projects such as the reconstruction of the Tomáš Baťa Memorial in Zlín, the Baťa skyscraper and part of the Baťa Institute, Jurkovič's Villa in Brno, the mausoleum at Vítkov in Prague, and the Gočár Automatic Mills in Pardubice. In his youth, he was fascinated by drawing, music, and construction, which led him to study at the Brno University of Technology. After his studies, he began working at the heritage institute, which significantly influenced his professional focus. In 1997, he founded the studio Transat Architekti, where the main pillar was the reconstruction and revitalization of existing buildings. His work has been honored with a number of prestigious awards, including a nomination for the Architect of the Year award for the restoration of the Tomáš Baťa Memorial.
