OFFCITY ARCHITECTS
JAROSLAV ZIMA / D3A

Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at 7:00 PM at Divadlo 29 / Sv. Anežky České 29, Pardubice

The lecture series Offcity Architects has been dedicated this whole year to a topic particularly relevant for Pardubice: the conversion of industrial buildings and the issue of brownfields.

Throughout the year, we have had the opportunity to hear a variety of opinions, perspectives, and experiences related to this issue, not only from architects but also from architecture theorists, social geographers, and cultural managers. Although with this December lecture we conclude the theme of 2013, we recognize that the city of Pardubice is only at the beginning of a long process in which it should strategically and consciously address its industrial heritage.

Ing.arch. Jaroslav Zima is one of the leading architects of the D3A office. The realizations of this office could be described as some of the most original and interesting from Czech "meadows and groves." They focus on projects for public spaces, factories, office buildings, as well as the interiors of shops, offices, or apartments. In connection with the discussed issue, it is necessary to mention their experiences with the reconstruction and conversion of industrial buildings, such as the Konsepti headquarters in Prague's Holešovice or the project for the reconversion of the former Světovar brewery in Plzeň.

Admission: 50 CZK

Organized by the Terra Madoda association in cooperation with Divadlo 29 as part of the OFFCITY 2013 project. This project is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the statutory city of Pardubice, and the Czech Architecture Foundation.
