Kruh invites you to the spring lecture cycle “Another Perspective”, featuring a number of outstanding foreign architects who will present their projects and current trends in contemporary architecture. How is construction done in Switzerland, and what characterizes the work of a studio that focuses primarily on the reconstruction and expansion of museum buildings? Christ & Gantenbein have in their portfolio, among other things, the expansion of the Basel Kunstmuseum and the reconstruction and expansion of the Swiss National Museum in Zurich. We invite you to the next lecture in the cycle Another Perspective, this time titled More than 100 Years.

In the lecture, Christoph Gantenbein will present the work of the architectural office Christ & Gantenbein from Basel, which deals with architecture on both practical and theoretical levels. Among their most notable projects are the expansion of the Basel Kunstmuseum and the reconstruction and expansion of the Swiss National Museum in Zurich. Their designs navigate the edge of minimalism and brutalism. They are internationally recognized for their projects and receive commissions both in Switzerland and abroad. They are currently working on residential construction concepts in France and Germany, as well as on the extension of the Wallraf-Richartz Museum in Cologne. Swiss architect Christoph Gantenbein was born in 1971. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at ETH Zurich in 1998 and immediately founded his own studio with Emanuel Christ, which currently employs 35 architects. They have also taught at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio, the School of Architecture and Design in Oslo, and the Faculty of Architecture at ETH Zurich. He is now part of Harvard University GSD (Harvard Graduate School of Design), where he focuses mainly on urban issues.
