After the previous eight cycles focused on architectural creation in a certain corner of the world, this autumn we will set off to the French Republic. The goal of six lectures will be to explain the continuity of French architecture from the mid-18th century to the present day, which has not been disrupted by any war or revolution. We will analyze the contemporary French scene in detail, highlighting the differences among individual creators. The cycle French Autumn 2019 is a shortened version of the series English Spring 2020 prepared for the next semester. The lectures by Petr Šmídek will be held at the Faculty of Architecture VUT in Brno for all those interested in contemporary architecture every odd Tuesday in room A118 starting at 5:00 PM.
