We invite you to the 15th installment of the series on young Czech architecture, which is part of the STOLEN GALLERY. This time, the Prague studio BY architects, led by Markéta Zdebská, will present. The exhibition along with a lecture will take place this Thursday, August 8, at 21:00 at the former Jaro grocery store in Modřany.
The Atelier By architects was founded in 2010 by Markéta Zdebská, a graduate of the Architecture III studio at VŠUP. BY architects has recently drawn significant attention primarily with its two successful implementations of family houses that stand out from the typical Czech standard. The first of the aforementioned, RD 2, is located at the edge of a gardening colony. The layout is divided into two parts, which are interconnected by a longitudinal corridor. The overall mass, including the parking space, is sensitively unified by a larch façade that gives the house a calm expression. The second mentioned implementation is RD 3 in Kolovraty near Prague. It is a simply shaped structure where each detail has its significance. The upper floor of the house is pushed out towards the street, thus naturally creating the main dominant feature, under which the main entrance to the house along with the parking space is hidden. “Our approach is reflected in the respect for the client, the environment, and conceptual work. Our goal is to find depth and layers in the projects entrusted to our care”. By architects
