Anja Krämer

She works as an architectural historian and as an associate professor at the University of Stuttgart. Since 2006, she has been the director of the Weissenhof Museum in the Le Corbusier house.
The lecture will be dedicated to Weissenhof Settlement in Stuttgart, which is one of the most significant monuments of the movement known as "Neues Bauen". The ensemble was built in 1927 as an exhibition of residential houses organized by the city of Stuttgart and the Deutscher Werkbund association. Under the leadership of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, seventeen architects designed exemplary residential buildings for modern living. In 1958, Weissenhof was entered into the register of historical monuments. In 2002, the city of Stuttgart successfully purchased the duplex houses from Le Corbusier, in which the Weissenhof Museum was installed. The lecture will include the vernissage of an exhibition dedicated to the Weissenhof settlement, which will be installed on the technical floor of the Tugendhat Villa.

The lecture will be in English and will not be interpreted.
