Selection process for academic staff positions at the Faculty of Architecture CTU

The Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at CTU in Prague, Thákurova 9, Prague 6, announces a selection procedure for academic positions in accordance with Act No. 111/1998 Coll.:

1) for the Institute of Theory and History of Architecture
associate professor or assistant professor* - lecturer of the subject Sociology and Psychology with a share in scientific research and publishing activities;

2) for the Institute of Heritage Care
head of studio (professor, associate professor, or assistant professor*) with the prerequisites for comprehensive teaching of heritage care and long-term experience in the field of restoration of monuments, including quality authorial realizations and publications;

3) for the Institute of Building Science
[A] associate professor or assistant professor* - guarantor of the subject Concept and Interpretation with the prerequisite of participation in teaching the subject Building Science I-VI, with a share in significant realizations and publications in both domestic and international professional journals; [B] head of studio ZAN - assistant professor with a share in quality realizations and publications in domestic professional journals;

4) for the Institute of Landscape Architecture
[A] 2 assistant professors of studios ZAN KA H. Špalková with knowledge of current trends in landscape architecture; [B] associate professor or assistant professor* for teaching dendrology and technologies for establishing landscape modifications with relevant professional specialization and experience;

5) for the Institute of Building Engineering I
assistant professor, ensuring exercises in the subjects Building Science I with the prospect of involvement in scientific research and publishing activities, authorization in the field is an advantage;

6) for the Institute of Industrial Design assistant professor of studio F. Streit with knowledge of current trends in the field of Industrial Design.

Requirements:

• master's degree in the relevant field, Ph.D. qualification is welcome
• for positions of professors or associate professors* appointment in the relevant field, or prerequisites for starting the habilitation process upon employment
• professional practice in the field of at least 3 years, for heads of studios and lecturers at least 5 years
• professional qualities
• design and implementation activity, or scientific and publishing activity
• active knowledge of at least one world language is expected, knowledge of another language is welcome

Start from the winter semester 2016/2017 or by agreement.

Applicants should send along with their application:

• a structured professional CV with an overview of professional, publication, and pedagogical, or scientific activity including references (citations)
• certified copies of documents proving university education and obtained scientific-pedagogical titles
• for positions 2 to 6, samples of several key works (A4 format)
• for positions of heads of studios and lecturers, a written proposal regarding the concept and focus of the studio, or teaching and research

The announcement of the selection procedure was published in the nationwide edition of MF Dnes on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. The last day to submit applications is Thursday, May 26, 2016.
