Příbram - In Příbram, extensive revitalization of the surroundings of the cultural house has recently been completed. The outcome includes new surfaces for streets and sidewalks, completely reconstructed public lighting, repaired and expanded parking areas, and new greenery. The total costs amount to 21 million crowns, with funds being drawn by the city hall from the EU through the Integrated City Development Program (IPRM) for the Březohorské housing estate. Jiří Kubík, the spokesman for the city hall, stated this today.
The construction began last October, but due to the harsh winter, it did not fully commence until this spring. The streets Antonín Dvořák, the Liberation Boulevard from Legionářů Street to 17th November Square, Legionářů Street from Antonín Dvořák Street to Edvarda Beneše Street, Political Prisoners Street in the same section, and Edvarda Beneše Street from the Liberation Boulevard to Legionářů Street have all received a new look.
After the comprehensive reconstruction of Bratří Čapků Street, the city has completed the second phase of the revitalization of public spaces financed by the IPRM. The third phase includes the renovation of 17th November Square and the surrounding streets.
The Příbram City Hall has 5.1 million euros (about 123 million crowns) available for the renewal of the Březohorské housing estate. The city can use the funds for revitalizing public spaces, and homeowners can also apply for funds to repair their apartment buildings. Resources allocated for the gradual improvement of the oldest Příbram housing estate can be utilized until 2015.
