In Kuřim, they are preparing the construction of an ice hockey rink, a hotel, and a handball court

Kuřim - In the sports complex in Kuřim, located in the northern part of the city, plans are underway for the construction of an ice hockey hall, a seven-story hotel, an outdoor handball court, and a skate park in the coming years, according to a document on the EIA Information Portal. A sports hall for indoor sports is already under construction. The developing city north of Brno will thus gain a sports infrastructure in the coming years, which means locals will no longer have to travel to Brno or other places.

Currently, there is a football field between the industrial area and the residential development, an aquapark with an outdoor pool opened in 2010, and a sports hall is currently being built. It is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.

"The ice hockey hall is to be built by a private investor, and preparations are nearing completion," said mayor Drago Sukalovský to ČTK. The city also wants to find an investor for the hotel. According to the document, the hotel should be seven stories high, reaching 22 meters. The city intends to construct the handball court and skate park on its own.

The new sports facilities will occupy more than two hectares, and the speed of construction in the case of the city will depend on whether it secures grants. The city also wants to renovate the football stadium and the athletics sector. Kuřim hopes that the development of sports facilities will meet the needs of the locals, and the complex will also be used by sports clubs from the surrounding area.
