Benešov - In Benešov, an extension of the kindergarten on Dukelská Street has been built, which will accommodate up to 112 children. The container building, whose construction cost 20 million crowns, has been authorized and will welcome the first preschoolers next week, said Mayor Jaroslav Hlavnička (Choice for the City) to ČTK.

The container construction allows for disassembly and reassembly of the building based on the number of children. Four classrooms have been created in the building, each intended for 25 children. If necessary, an exception can be applied to add three more children to each class. Until now, 168 children attended the original kindergarten on Dukelská Street.
The total capacity of kindergartens in Benešov will exceed 700 places due to the extension. According to the mayor, the current capacity is sufficient for children from the city, but not from surrounding municipalities. However, the city does not plan further construction.
"I do not expect that we will increase capacity further. We have no other options. We had an idea that we would try to return the kindergarten to the pavilions that were converted into apartments in the 90s, but since grants were used for that, it is not possible," noted Hlavnička.
In the past, kindergartens have been expanded in places like Čáslav, Kladno or Mladá Boleslav. In Kutná Hora, they even plan to establish a forest kindergarten. It will be created in a typical Mongolian yurt, which is to be built on a vacant lot above the bridge over the Vrchlice stream.
