Třebíč - Třebíč is preparing the reconstruction of a 19th-century windmill, which once served to grind bark for the local tanners and later for housing. The city wants to make this monument accessible to the public, supplemented with a museum exhibition, in 2020. Třebíč Mayor Pavel Pacal (For Třebíč) said this to journalists today. Among other priorities agreed upon by the newly elected leadership of the city hall last year is the expansion of the observatory operated by the city children's and youth house on Švabinského Street to include a planetarium.
"As far as we know, this facility does not exist anywhere in the Vysočina Region yet. It should accommodate at least 30 children," stated Pacal. The necessary extension should take place next year.
Both plans are part of the city council's program declaration until 2022, which the mayor presented today. It also includes preparations for the renovation of the ice rink, the long-discussed revitalization of central Karlovo Square, the reconstruction of the castle park, and the initiation of a general repair of the National House in the center, where cultural events are held.
The Třebíč city hall also intends to start building social and starter apartments in the coming years; it has not been involved in residential construction for several years. Residents of Třebíč should also expect new parking lots during this electoral term. A catchment parking lot for about a hundred cars is expected to be built on Hrotovická Street near the transport terminal. The city owns the land there.
According to Pacal, compromises were necessary when drafting the program declaration, given that the city council coalition consists of seven entities; however, there was no sharp disagreement, according to him. As he stated, the planned initiatives are based on the city's financial outlook for this period; the city should have about 180 million crowns available each year for them. "These are not pious wishes that we will still be looking for money for," he said.
In the leadership of Třebíč, which has 36,000 inhabitants, there are representatives from the ANO movement, ČSSD, KDU-ČSL, ODS, the group Pro Třebíč, Břehy, and Třebíč my home since last November.
