Prague - The first study for the plan to create a recreational center in Prague-Troja should be completed by the end of the year. Around June, a special city commission is expected to select the main architect for the project, informed councilman Milan Richter (ODS) to ČTK.

In Troja, where the castle and the zoo and botanical garden are located, the city intends to build new accommodation facilities, parking lots, and improve transportation connections there. "We want Troja to become a place where families with children will come for the weekend. Our goal is for visitors to stay here longer than just one afternoon," said Richter.
The area should ultimately be connected with Císařský Island, Stromovka, and the Exhibition Grounds. Currently, the transportation there is poor. "We are considering building a new road along the future flood protection barrier," the councilman pointed out. However, the project should not negatively affect local residents, he added.
The commission's next meeting will be within a month. By then, the assignment for the architect and the map of ownership relations for the local plots should also be completed.
The plan to build a recreational center in Troja is one of the points on the council's agenda for the current electoral term. The basic part of the project should be completed by 2010.
