Brno - Construction workers completed 2,228 apartments in the South Moravian Region in the first half of this year, which is 561 more than in the first half of last year. According to data published today by the Czech Statistical Office, the number of building permits issued also increased.

The construction of properties intended for housing is likely to continue to grow in the coming period. According to CSO data, the number of building permits issued increased. Authorities in southern Moravia issued 4,515, which is 304 more than in the first half of last year. "The estimated value of the buildings permitted this year has increased year-on-year by nearly a fifth to 19.9 billion crowns," said Milada Jonášová from the Brno branch of the CSO.
The number of building permits issued is the second highest among regions, right after the Central Bohemian Region. In the Blansko area and in Brno, as the only parts of the region, the number of building permits issued fell, while most significantly, it rose in the Znojmo region, where the number increased by 36 percent.
