Slaný – Construction of a new sports hall in Slaný for more than 70 million crowns will begin in the fall, and it will also include a small gym. The city council intends to announce the tender for the work in the summer, and the hall could be opened by the end of next year, said Markéta Růtová, spokesperson for the Slaný city council, in a press release.
The hall will be located in the Slaný – North area. Part of the costs for its construction could be covered by a European grant focused on the environment, and the city has also applied for a state grant.
Energy-saving operations will be supported by insulation of the walls, heating with heat pumps, and the recovery of heat from warm utility water. "Energy savings will also be aided by LED fixtures in the main hall, where each of them can have its own specific lighting mode set. We can thus illuminate only the parts of the hall that are currently in use, and at an intensity that is necessary for the given sport," said Slaný councilor and chairman of the investment committee Ladislav Peška (KSČM).
The sports facilities will serve floorball players, futsal players, basketball players, volleyball players, handball players, footvolley players, and tennis players. They will meet the parameters for holding official matches. A small gym is designated for sports such as table tennis, aerobics, dance, and others. After the construction is completed, newly planted bushes and trees will surround the hall.
