Rakovník - Rakovník will reissue a tender for the complete repair of the roof of the Sokolovna, which is a protected heritage building. The latest completion date in the new terms will be postponed from the previously required end of 2025 to October 2027. The city had to cancel the tender worth approximately 19 million crowns with an earlier deadline because no one applied for it. Adjusting the conditions is expected to help attract companies that, according to the original terms, would not have been able to complete the contract. At the same time, it is necessary to comply with the rules of the already allocated twelve-million crown grant from the Ministry for Regional Development, which requires the completion of the roof, including inspection, by June 2028, said the spokesperson for the Rakovník City Hall, Kateřina Hradilová, today.

The tender with new conditions will be announced in the coming days. "We believe that this could increase the likelihood that a price offer will be submitted for the tender," Hradilová stated. The duration of work on the Sokolovna is estimated at 17 months.

The reconstruction will include the repair of the ceiling structures above the large hall (gym) and the small hall, as well as the renewal of the roof trusses, ceiling beams, some masonry structures, and more. The current aluminum roofing will be replaced with new copper sheeting. New sheet metal elements will also be added.

In addition, this year a renovation of the restroom facilities is planned in the Sokolovna for more than 600,000 crowns. The contractor has already been selected. New barrier-free restroom facilities will be built in the northeast part of the building. The construction modifications will also include minor changes to the layout and adjustments to the internal installations and floors.
