Rakovník - Rakovník has announced a tender for extensive repairs of the historically protected Sokolovna, having secured European funding. The work will be divided into this year and next year. It will mainly include the repair of the roof, trusses, and roofing elements. In addition, there are plans to renew the social facilities, for which a separate contract has been announced. The city expects to launch the reconstruction in June, said today the spokesperson of the Rakovník town hall, Kateřina Hradilová.
The cost of the complete roof repair is estimated to reach approximately 20 million crowns, of which nearly 13 million has been acquired by the city from the grant. "Part of the reconstruction includes the repair of ceiling structures, including the suspended ceilings above the large hall (gymnasium) and small hall. The existing aging covering of aluminum sheets (Alukryt) will be replaced with a new one made of copper-stamped sheets in narrow strips," the spokesperson stated. All roofing elements will be made of copper. "As part of the roof truss repair, the structure of the truss above the small hall will be strengthened," Hradilová added.
The social facilities will be barrier-free, its layout will be modified, and the original water, sewage, and electrical installations will be replaced with new ones. The cost is estimated to be around 800,000 crowns.
