The area at the intersection of two streets in the industrial district of Vítkovice in Ostrava consists of a production hall on Šalounova Street and a one-story building with a rectangular floor plan and a residential attic, oriented lengthwise to Výstavní Street. It is integrated into an older mixed development of smaller scale, formed by both terrace and solitary buildings mainly for residential and administrative purposes. The new building features display windows on the ground floor and strip windows on the upper floor. The facades are clad in corrugated metal and wood in the attic. Structurally, it is a construction made of concrete elements, a transverse wall system; the attic is designed as a wooden structure. By the expressively shaped corner of the building's floor, asymmetrical roofs of the extensions, and the external pipes, the authors aimed to respond to the character of the Vítkovice buildings and especially to the impressive atmosphere of the industrial halls located almost next to the house. Directly opposite the main building of the new complex is a cultural monument - the historicizing Czech National House from 1899 designed by the builder Bohumil Židlický (Výstavní No. 113 / Vítkovice No. 17). By combining various materials and forms, the authors created a complex whole that reflects the diversity of the surroundings. The historical trace is evident in the neighboring older buildings, but it also arises from the fact that Výstavní Street marks the route of the old road connecting Vítkovice with neighboring Moravian Ostrava.
