Příbram - Příbram has a study for a large-scale reconstruction of the aquapark. Based on it, documentation for the building permit will be created during the autumn. The reconstruction of the complex is estimated to cost between 200 and 300 million crowns. Work will begin in the autumn of 2018 and last until March 2020, said the town hall spokesperson Pavlína Svobodová today. "Through this study, urban planners, architects, experts, and designers attempted to find the optimal layout for all new technologies, a children's area with relaxation zones, a sauna area, fitness spaces, refreshment areas, and so on," stated Mayor Jindřich Vařeka (ANO).
Four variants of the future appearance of the aquapark were developed, from which the most suitable one was selected. In the winning version, a relaxation area with slides and experience attractions is located with an entrance from the direction of Osvobození Street. In contrast, the sauna world and outdoor garden with outdoor saunas are situated in the southeastern part of the aquapark complex. "The study told us what will be located where. A new children's paddling pool will be built at the summer swimming pool, while the outdoor 50-meter long pool will remain unchanged for financial reasons," added the mayor.
A year ago, the city published an operational economic analysis and a preliminary study that described the basic options and provisionally estimated costs at 200 to 300 million CZK. It also largely incorporated public requests that emerged from surveys and discussions.
With the application for a building permit, documentation for the tender will begin to be processed, to which construction companies will be able to submit their bids. If a sufficient number of bids are received and are attractive enough, a committee will determine the winner, which will be confirmed by the council. "We expect that European-sized companies will participate in the reconstruction tender," stated Deputy Mayor Václav Švenda (TOP 09). The result of the competition will indicate how much the city will cover from its budget and what amount it will take as a loan.
The swimming complex on Legionářů Street was built 40 years ago. It has undergone several repairs and expansions, but its current form no longer meets current standards. The city faced the decision of whether to carry out partial repairs or embark on a complete reconstruction and modernization. The second option was approved by the council at the end of last year. The city leadership intends to present the reconstruction process in detail to the public at a meeting in the council's meeting room, which will take place on November 1.
