Prague - Prague will deal with the future appearance of Dvořák's Embankment, specifically Na Františku, and citizens can also participate. Today, the Institute of Planning and Development (IPR) informed ČTK about this in a press release. However, future modifications will not affect the dock by the Vltava River. The plan includes the renewal of sidewalks, adjacent spaces, and a small park.

"The area Na Františku could be a very attractive corner of Prague. It is located between the riverbank and the Petrská quarter with its romantic alleys. Today, however, visitors do not seek it out much due to neglect and traffic noise," said IPR Prague Director Petr Hlaváček. The manager of the areas and the investor of the modifications is the Prague company Technická správa komunikací.

Citizens can also participate in the preparation of a conceptual study for the new solution for Dvořák's Embankment. Until February 5, they can describe in a questionnaire how satisfied they are with the current state and suggest changes; at the turn of January and February, information stands will be set up on the embankment, where urban planners and architects will interview passersby. From the discussion, it could also emerge whether to use the designation Na Františku or Dvořák's Embankment for the area.

In the coming years, modifications to the traffic regime on the dock and the accessibility of the gardens of the Convent of St. Agnes, prepared by the National Gallery, are also planned. According to Hlaváček, Dvořák's Embankment is unique in that it primarily houses institutions, alongside the gallery, such as the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Faculty of Law, and the Na Františku Hospital.

The local dock currently serves mainly as a landing stage for cruise ships. IPR plans to address its modifications only in connection with a new port regime.
